Product recalls. Keep informed to insure your safety!

Recently, a neighbor of ours suffered a devastating fire.  The cause was from a dehumidifier manufactured in 2005 and sold at Wal-Mart.   A year after it was purchased the manufacturer recalled the model citing problems with the wiring.  The problem is that our neighbor doesn't remember receiving the notice.  As a result the fire ensued.  We came across this federal recall site that can be accessed either on your computer or hand held device.  This one site gives information on several different products from food to manufactured goods.  The download is free.  It's very convenient as you could be shopping and have questions about a particular model or food product.  Simply, log in to http://www.recalls.gov/ and click on the appropriate tab to search for a possible match.  Safety is a priority and this site could be very useful.
